Starting Over

Starting Over
They say it’s getting faster, faster every day
So I walk slowly and I look around
They say it’s getting louder, getting louder every day
But the noise grows old and then it dies, the noise grows old and then it dies
Then it starts over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
They say we’re getting softer, so much softer everyday
A little bit softer and we are sure to bend
They say it’s getting harder, so much harder everyday
A little bit harder and it’s sure to break,
A little bit harder and it’s sure to break
Then it starts over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
It starts all over, over, over
They say it’s getting closer so much closer everyday
A little bit closer and we’ll all be one
A little bit closer and we’ll all be one
Then we start over, over, over
Then we start over, over, over
Then we start over, over, over
Then we start over, over, over
A little bit closer and will all be one and come undone
A Little bit harder and it’s sure to bend and sure to break
A little bit further and this journey that we’re on we’ll make and start over, over, over,
We start all over.

Gravity

Gravity
I’m climbing the loneliness tree to hide from you
I’ve been lost in gravity it’s true
And there’s a star beside your name, I believe
I’ve got to cross you off my list of needs.
And so I climb to redefine
What I cannot hide inside my mind
I’m climbing the loneliness tree to hide from you
I’ve been lost in gravity it’s true
This climbing higher and higher in mystery
It’s lifting the shadows off of me
And still I climb to redefine
What I cannot hide inside my mind

Luckiest Star

Luckiest Star
Come quick cuz Mom’s hit the floor
Dad’s running in as she flies out the window
And I’m on the next airplane home
The angels, they all know your name
They gather around whenever you call
The grandmas and grandpas of old
You are the luckiest star
You are the luckiest star
You are the luckiest star
The wind smells like weather today
Snows rolling in to deepen our sleep
And you are just waking up
All groggy from sleeping so long
The family’s all there as you climb up the staircase
And everyone welcomes you home.
You are the luckiest star
You are the luckiest star
You are the luckiest star

Morning Blues

Morning Blues
When I woke up this morning, I looked out at the sky
I couldn’t find a single reason why I should try
To get my sorry act together to pick it up and fly
I sent myself back to bed, here is the reason why:
I had a long lonely heart
Some mornings, it’s just so hard to start
With those grey clouds hovering around my cup
Some mornings I just cant wake up
It used to be when I was younger, I’d jump right out of bed
Face the world like a bucket of smiles had been poured over my head
Now when I drive to work each day, I wish it’d all go away
Those morning blues just haunt me and sometimes every day.
I get a long lonely heart,
Some mornings it’s just so hard to start
With those grey clouds hovering around my coffee cup
Some mornings I just can’t wake up.
I used to work each day in this factory
Some days were too much
One of those days I up and quit,
I guess I’d had enough
The morning blues had taken over every part of my day
All that I had left to do was turn around and walk away!
What about that lonely heart
The next morning it wasn’t so hard to start
And those grey clouds broke around my cup
That morning, I finally woke Up
When I walked away - I woke up!

Wake Up

|

Wake Up
Open your heart, open your mind
Let it all in, let it all unwind
It’s in the silence, it’s in the big sound
It’s on the inside and in the all around
Saying
Wake up, wake up, wake up and come to life!
Wake up, wake up, wake up and come to life!
Wake up, wake up, wake up and come to life!
Wake up, wake up, wake up and come to life!
Feel it working, feel it singing
Feel it laughing, feel it playing
It’s in the big sky and in the underground
It’s on the inside and in the all around
Saying Wake Up, wake up, wake up and come to life!

Lay Back
03:24
|

Lay Back
Train’s a coming, train’s a going
Station’s rocking, always rolling
Seems like lately there’s no time to spare
Running late to fall behind, chasing someone else’s dime
Trying to keep the past from catching up
Gotta stop and take a break
The future’s just a war we wage
With what we have and what we haven’t got
So, lay back, way back
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
Come on in and sit a while
Have a cup, share a smile
Talk about the things here today
When we get back up to go
It won’t be such a heavy load
Knowing we don’t carry it alone
So Lay back, way back
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
There’s you and me, us and them
Young and old, her and him
Time to realize we are all the same
In this moment out of time
And there is nothing that is yours or mine
That we can carry with us when we go
So Lay back, way back
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go
Lay back and watch it go

Nothing Gives

Nothing Gives
A heart has got to break before
It opens up to feel the wind blow through
All the oceans had to roll away
Before the great plains came to feel the wind blow through
I sit by this window and I count the drops of rain
That make the great lake swim
Nothing gives and nothing takes more than love
Nothing gives and nothing takes more than love
The falling leaves are everyone
We have to let go when we feel
The wind blow through
We’re footprints in the sand that say
Watch us we fade and feel
The wind blow through
I sit by this window and count the lives it takes
To make this great world spin
Nothing gives and nothing takes more than love
Nothing gives and nothing takes more than love
It just takes a little bit of love to let it all go
It just takes a little bit of love to let it all go
It just takes a little bit of love to let it all go
It just takes a little bit of love to let it all go
A heart has got to break before
It opens up to feel the wind blow through

Sarita

Sarita
Sarita, Sarita do you know me?
Deep down in the water, there’s a question in the darkness,
Where are your children?
We’ve fallen down now
The goodness of the past is just an echo of a memory down the hallway
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?
Oh, lonesome I
The streets are wet, the lights around are bleeding on the sidewalk
All the lights around are bleeding on the sidewalk
Am I awake now? Am I awake now?
The birds take flight
The taxi’s light alone will take you home now
It’s the taxi’s light alone can take you home now
Or am I just dreaming? Am I just dreaming?
Oh, lonesome I
Oh, lonesome I
Somewhere in the past
A child runs beside the river
Her parents laugh out loud as they wonder
Hear her parents laugh out loud as they wonder
Will we live forever?

Sun Inside
Papa Chonka: “Wow, is that ever beautiful. I could live three or four lifetimes and never get it that way again. It’s a beautiful, beautiful one trip special. It’s completely, the inside that counts.”
I send the sun on the inside.
